Week 5 – Interview with Portobello Road Radio

Throughout the start of my internship, one of bi-products of the programme is the fact that I’m better at articulating myself and polishing how I describe my work compared to when the programme began. This is due to being thrown into the networking as a part of the internship, meeting multiple artists and having to introduce myself. Initially, throughout this programme, I would regularly slip on my words and also ramble, so this Friday would be a good test to see if I could articulate myself better as I’ll be doing a live interview with Portabello Road Radio station.

I arrived at the gallery and got told that I also had to be the sound engineer for the show as Greg, the previous host/engineer has had to isolate because of COVID. This became a day that would both test my technical skills and my artistic articulation. As the day proceeded, I successfully mixed and mastered the audio for the live feed but also managed to use the radio show as a platform to promote my work without stumbling over my words - a huge boost in confidence and proof of my blossoming skills in articulation.
